Gaynor Minden retains the classic beauty of lustrous satin and elegant tapered lines, but with a completely modernized interior to meet the needs of today’s athletic dancers. Gaynor Minden Pointe Shoes are made with expert European hand-craftsmanship, the most up-to-date athletic materials, and first-hand knowledge of ballet.
- Gaynor Mindens last 3-5 times longer than traditionally made pointe shoes. The parts that provide support for the dancer, the shank and toe box, are made from flexible molded inserts.
- Gaynor Mindens have been tested to withstand hundreds of thousands of relevés without any weakening or deformation of the shank or box. They can actually help promote correct alignment. Shanks are pre-arched for better support and a prettier line. However, the dancer must still work her feet in moving through the demi-pointe position.
- The Premium Weave Soft Satin used in the Lyra line encourages expressive footwork and effortless roll-through. It features a unique weave and material blend that is only available at Gaynor Minden. The satin hardly strecthes at all which is important to know when fitting your shoe.
- Pointe shoe linings are moisture wicking, and are slightly textured to help prevent the shoe from sliding along the foot.
- The drawstring opens at the side, rather than at the throat, so it won’t irritate the top of your foot. After being tied it is easily concealed in the natural space at your arch, making for a clean, uninterrupted line along the vamp.
- The platform is pleatless, creating a greater useable surface en pointe and fewer wobbles in penché flat. It also provides the space for noise and impact reducing materials under the satin.
- Gaynor Minden shanks and boxes don’t soften. The shank that you select should feel broken-in and sufficiently flexible from the beginning. Dancers who are accustomed to traditionally made shanks are usually concerned with finding a hard enough shoe because they know that conventional construction rapidly softens. Because Gaynor Mindens will not break in or break down, be sure you are satisfied with the roll-through and flexibility of the shoe when it is new.

MODEL: We currently stock Sculpted Fit (LSC) and Classic Fit (LCL), and can order Sleek Fit (LSK) for you as a special order at no additonal cost.
LENGTH: This can be determined during your fitting unless you are already wearing Gaynor Minden LYRA shoes and know your size. Size can vary between Models.
WIDTH: Narrow, Medium or Wide
BOX: Fits the toes and metatarsal area. There are typically five box sizes available but this is also dependent upon the length of your shoes.
SHANK: The shank that you select should feel broken-in and sufficiently flexible from the beginning

Gaynor Mindens have standard sizes and non-standard sizes which can impact availbility and wait times for individual pointe shoes. Please contact us to discuss if you already know your exact shoe and are just replacing them.

Returns or exchanges on products can be made within 14 days of purchase. You must provide proof of purchase when requesting a return/exchange.
All merchandise that is returned must be in its original packaging with all labels attached and be unworn.
Products that show signs of use e.g. markings on the sole of a shoe, deodorant/make-up stains on a garment cannot be refunded.
There are no exchanges or returns on products marked as ‘clearance’. Our clearance items are offered as a final sale.
We do not accept returns or exchanges of face masks, hosiery, underwear or tights due to hygiene and health regulations.
If you purchase the wrong sized garment, we will arrange an exchange for another size if it is available within 7 business days of goods being received. If the size requested is not available, we will offer you an alternative style or a refund at your request.
We reserve the right to inspect garments to ensure the return policy conditions are met. Therefore, the item/s must be unworn and unwashed in original saleable condition with all labels and tags attached.
At Attitude we are happy to provide an exchange for change of mind within 14 days of purchase. Goods must be returned in their original packaging, unused condition, with all labels and tags attached and packaged for transit so damage does not occur.
Postage/shipping paid on the original items is not refundable.
Return postage on the item from the customer to Attitude is at the customer's expense.
Postage on the new item is at the customer's expense and must be paid before the item can be posted.
